Ephemeral Visions

Ephemeral Visions is about sound sculptures solely created with a modular synthesizer, which despite having been captured at a certain moment with some of his home studio methods (cassettes, computer, digital recorder, etc.), were trapped somewhere in space- time, in a non-rebuildable state, due to the nature of the instrument, that is to say, once the cables that make up the patches of a synthesizer are disconnected and it is reconfigured, it is impossible to rebuild the same song with it, even though the same patch is recreated using the same instrument. That ephemeral and volatile nature is what gives life and shape to this album and the concept behind it, loaded with melodies, textures and polyrhythms that unfold over time, and become diffuse until they turn almost unrecognizable.

In the midst of covid-19 lock-down, I recorded this small EP as a gift to the world to hopefully contribute get some inner peace and calm during the hard times. This EP was recorded using only the Korg Volca FM as sound source and processed with granular synthesis (Mutable Instruments Clouds and the Almanacs Granular Processor)
